Skype finally released the latest version for Android devices that lets you enable video chatting and 3G calls on Android devices. Skype 2.1 for Android comes with official support including 17 Android devices . If your Android device is not in the list, then you can try a couple of options to find out if the application is compatible or not.

We promised to add support for additional handsets when we launched our new Skype for Android app with video a couple of weeks ago. Today we are pleased to announce that with the release of Skype 2.1 for Android, we are rolling out video support for an additional 17 of the most popular Android devices.
The late launch the application with video calls Skype for Android is a lot ahead for IOS, which is its main competitor. Therefore, it might be greeted with a bit of apathy in a while considering that we have great availability of applications such as Tango , ooVoo,and Fring , to me is the best option for allowing video conferencing group.
But the important thing is that it is available, you can download now from the Android Market , or by the mobile version from your browser by entering the computer or if you prefer, using the QR code.
Devices compatible with Skype 2.1 :Acer A5 , HTC Desire (2.2), HTC Desire HD, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Evo 4G, HTC Flyer, HTC Incredible S, HTC Sensation, HTC Thunderbolt – Verizon (2.2) (US only), LG Revolution – Verizon (2.2) (US only), Samsung Droid Charge – Verizon (2.2) (US only), Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro, Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY, Sony Ericsson Xperia ray.
If you’re using Android 2.2 (Froyo) or greater on a device not listed in the What’s New section, you should still be able to enable video calling in Skype settings. Please note that video call quality may not be as good as on a certified device.
